A Distinguished Musical Theater Composer’s Mid-Century Estate - The Frederick Loewe House

Frederick Loewe was a Tony and Oscar-winning American composer and musical theater collaborator. He is best known for his work on Broadway musicals, including My Fair Lady and Camelot. Loewe also collaborated with Alan Lerner on the original film musical Gigi. In recognition of his contributions to music and theater, Loewe was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1972 and, seven years later, into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1979.

Loewe decided to retire to Palm Springs, California, where, in 1960, he purchased a mid-century luxury estate. Built in 1956, the desert home spans three acres and features lush greenery, tennis courts, a pool and spa, and breathtaking views. The property boasts over 100 olive trees, 33 palm trees, numerous flowers, cacti, and a massive rose garden, which Loewe personally designed and planted. He lived in Palm Springs until his death at the age of 86.

Today, the estate serves as a wedding and event venue.

This is what caught my eye; I hope you enjoy!
