Ferry Farm - George Washington’s Boyhood Home

I was told by the guide that this land was going to become a Walmart and public opposition won and this is Ferry Farm re-created. George Washington was 6 years old when the family moved here in 1738. All of Ferry Farm’s building are recreated including the house, built on the original foundation. The visitors center displays colonial and Civil War artifacts found on the property. You can also see the archaeology lab through a viewer window.

Here is what caught my eye; I hope you enjoy!
