In The Historic Low Country Of South Carolina - Beaufort & Bluffton

Beaufort is located on Port Royal Island, and posses an old-world, southern charm that was established back in 1711 when the township was formally founded. The town has a maritime history and beautiful old house down quaint narrow streets calling out to be explored. Beaufort is the second oldest city in South Carolina and is one of a handful U.S. towns where the entire downtown is designated historic district.

Bluffton was a one square-mile town incorporated in 1852. It is often described as ‘eclectic’, the town full of artists, art galleries and parades. The Secession movement, which lead to South Carolina to be the first state to leave the Union in 1860, had roots here under a big Oak tree.

What you should know:

  • You could spend a couple of hours visiting and walking in both towns. Walking is a great to get around.

  • On the street parking is available.

  • Parking in-season can be difficult.

  • There are a few restaurant options.

  • People are fiendly and helpful.
