Inspiring ‘Stranger Things’ - Camp Hero

Montauk, Long Island. Human experiments? Government conspiracies? The Montauk Monster? Time Travel? Netflix ‘Stranger Things’….

The military base was created to defend the United States from the Nazis and later from the Russians. The Army deactivated the base in 1947. In 1951, the property was transferred to the Air Force and the radar was installed. The Air Force occupied the site until 1982, and in 1984, the land was turned over to National Parks Service. Today, Camp Hero operates as a unique 415-acre New York State Park with diverse landscapes including dramatic views of the Atlantic Ocean from the high bluffs, heavily wooded areas, wetlands beach, abandoned seaside village and WWII abandoned radar tower.

Here is what caught my eye, I hope you enjoy!
