Preserving & Celebrating Jazz Music - New Orleans Jazz Museum
The Jazz Museum is housed in the historic Old U.S. Mint, strategically located at the intersection of the French Quarter and the Frenchmen Street live music corridor. The New Orleans Jazz Museum is at the heart of the city’s vibrant music scene.
The first floor features a small display of equipment and items in the Face Value: The Illusions & Power of Money exhibit. Also on this floor, near the entrance, is the exhibit A Hidden History of a Black Brotherhood.
The second floor showcases exhibits on the evolution of the New Orleans Beat, Black Bourbon Street, Louis Armstrong, early jazz in New Orleans, and Louisiana Blues.
The third floor includes a performance space as well as museum storage.
Through partnerships with local, national, and international educational institutions, the New Orleans Jazz Museum promotes the global understanding of jazz as one of the most innovative and historically pivotal musical art forms in world history.
This is what caught my eye. I hope you enjoy!
