Sunrise at the Lighthouse - The Fire Island National Seashore
The visible landmark on the Great South Bay and the Fire Island National Seashore, is the lighthouse, built in 1857-1858 and is 168 feet tall. Other buildings that are part of the Fire Island Light Station complex are the light, keeper’s quarters, the lens building, and the boathouse. Decommissioned in 1974 and in 1982 the Fire Island Lighthouse Preservation Society (FILPS) was formed to preserve the lighthouse.
This is what caught my eye, I hope you enjoy!
