The 3rd Oldest Higher Education Institution In The U.S. - Yale University
Yale University is located in New Haven, Connecticut, and was founded as the Collegiate School in 1701, to train ministers and political leaders. It was renamed Yale College in 1718 in honor of Elihu Yale, a benefactor who donated funds and books to the college.
The campus is renowned for its stunning Gothic architecture, including iconic buildings like Sterling Memorial Library and Harkness Tower, though it also features a harmonious blend of historic and modern buildings.
Yale is organized into fourteen constituent schools, including the original undergraduate college, the Yale Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and the prestigious Yale Law School.
The university's alumni include US presidents, Supreme Court justices, and Nobel laureates. Over the centuries, Yale has transformed from a small theological college into a global research university and was among the first institutions in the United States to award doctoral degrees.
