The Crowning Place For Scottish Kings - Scone Palace

Scone Palace is the family home of the Earls of Mansfield and the crowning place of Scottish kings. The interior of the palace is furnished and loaded with family memorabilia. Unfortunately, because it still is a private home, no indoor photography was allowed but the history is overwhelming. So much so that I did not even get to really explore the grounds, because my time was spent in the palace.

There is needlework done my Mary Queen of Scots, you will see the Long Gallery where King Charles I walked to his coronation in 1661. There is the desk that Marie Antionette wrote letter at prior to he beheading. A State Room where Queen Victoria entertained in 1842. You are surrounded by furniture, photos, paintings, pieces of art and of course history.

Although I do not have many pictures to show here, I must say the visit was really interesting. If you have the chance, go visit.
