Como, has attracted both famous and everyday travelers visitors for centuries. It commands the south shore of Lake Como and is surrounded by hills and mountains. The city has a lakefront promenade, cobblestone streets, beautiful squares with historic buildings, and a beautiful cathedral. There are many shops and restaurants, a world-renowned silk district, and palatial villas such as Villa Olmo with lakeside gardens.
