Lagos is a historic and fascinating city situated in the picturesque Western Algarve coastline. It has a rich seafaring heritage, pristine beaches, mixed in with Portuguese character. Despite. its popularity, Lagos has managed to retain its distinctive character and charm. You can sense the history when exploring the historic old town with its narrow streets, whitewashed buildings and colorful facades. The town’s history origins date back to the Roman times, and has retained its character through the centuries. Lagos is also known for its stunning beaches with golden sand, crystal-clear waters and dramatic cliffs, creating an enjoyable backdrop for swimming and sunbathing. If you want to see more of the rugged coastline, book a boat trip to see the series of rock formations, grottos and sea caves.

  • Walking is a great way to get around.

  • People are friendly, helpful and most speak English.
