Created By Combining Four Family Homes - Riad Salem Fes
In the oldest, most tranquil, and captivating section of Fes—the Medina—stands Riad Salam Fes. The Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a living museum, its narrow streets alive with merchants, artisans, and the intoxicating aromas of spices. This riad’s history dates back to a time when Fes thrived as a major center of commerce and learning, renowned for its magnificent palaces, mosques, and riads.
In the Medina, the exteriors of homes were intentionally modest, a design choice reflecting humility and respect for neighbors. Yet, behind these unassuming facades lay thick walls, intricately adorned with mosaics and carved cedarwood, a testament to the artistry and sophistication of the era you will see all of this in Riad Salam Fes.
Today, it serves as a hotel and restaurant, uniting four exquisitely restored traditional riads into a harmonious blend of history and modernity.
This is what caught my eye; I hope you enjoy!
