It Has The Oldest Building In Edinburgh - Edinburgh Castle

Edinburgh Castle is one of the oldest fortificated places in Europe, and the St. Margaret’s Chapel, located in the Edinburg Castle, is the oldest building in Edinburgh. The castle has a long, rich history as a royal residence, prison and fortress. It was home to kings and queens for many centuries. Queen Margaret (who was later made a saint) died here in 1093 and St. Margaret’s Chapel was built in her honor. The castle was attacked 23 times and changed many times during its history. Mary Queen of Scots gave birth to James VI in the Royal Palace in 1566. He became king of Scotland at 13 months old and united the crowns of Scotland and England in 1603. On display here in the Crown Room, are the oldest Crown Jewels in Britain. So much history here.

Here is what caught my eye, I hope you enjoy!
