Originally Called “Eden” - Bar Harbor, Maine

Bar Harbor was initially incorporated in 1796 as the Town of Eden, after Sir Richard Eden, and English statesman and in 1918 changed the name to Bar Harbor. The new name came from the expansive sandbar that appears during low tide. Once a retreat for wealthy families, the Great Depression and a historic fire in 1947 took its toll on the area.

Today the eclectic small town hosts summer and fall visitors, some visiting nearby Arcadia National Park. It is the largest town on Mount Desert Island and is known for its natural beauty, celebrity residents and delicious lobster rolls.

Here is what caught my eye, I hope you enjoy it!
