Calais, Maine has three US-Canada crossings over the St. Croix River. It was the home of the first railroad in Maine, incorporated in 1832.

We took Route 1 to travel into Canada after staying in the Redclyffe Shore Motel in Robbinston. These are a few of the sights caught my eye along the way. I hope you enjoy!

The house on the property of the cute, cozy Redclyffe Shore Motel in Robbinston. We stayed here one night and it was great vintage vibe with water views of Passamaquoddy Bay.

Seawall Memorial Congressional Church on US 1 in Robbinston, was built in 1911 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places

Along Passamaquoddy Bay

Grace Chapel on US 1 in Robbinston was built in 1882, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Saint Croix River and its area were first explored by the French Samuel de Champlain when he and his men spent the winter on St. Croix Island. This is part of the Saint Croix Island International Historic Site.
