The Seat Of The Archbishop Of Naples - Cathedral of Assumption of Mary

The imposing present Neo-Gothic cathedral was commissioned by King Charles I of Anjou and was built between 1299 and 1314. The cathedral, with three main entrances, is home to important artistic, cultural and historic heritage. There is an enormous amount to see in the Cathedral chapels including priceless art and stunning medieval architecture. There are beautifully detailed frescos, intricate bronze railings and canvases by important Italian artists. Probably the most unusual item in the cathedral is the vial of St. Januarius’ blood. It is said that the saint’s blood turns from solid to liquid during certain festivals.

Here is what caught my eye, I hope you enjoy!
