A Historic New York City Farm - Queens County Farm Museum

Hidden in plain site in the Glen Oaks section of Queens is one of the longest continually farmed sites in New York City. The 47 acre farm dates back to 1697, offering a glimpse into the city’s agricultural history. The site is a New York City Landmark on the National Register of Historic Places and is a member of the Historic House Trust of New York City.

The nearby Creedmore State Hospital obtained the property in 1927, and for decades the area remained agricultural and was tilled by the hospital patients and the farmhouse was used by hospital staff until 1973.

Today, the farm is part of the New York City Parks and Recreation Department.

This is what caught my eye; I hope you enjoy!
