Maine’s Oldest Lighthouse - Portland Head

You will certainly appreciate the breathtaking scenic costal views from the Portland Head, the oldest lighthouse in the state of Maine. The historical landmark is located on the rocky coast of Cape Elizabeth with crashing waves in the background. The lighthouse is one of only four lighthouses still standing from George Washington’s presidency. The tower overlooking Casco Bay was built in 1790, and the keeper’s residency built in 1891 on top of the original 1816 cottage foundation.

Here is what caught my eye; I hope you enjoy!
