New York City’s First Designated Historic District Is Here - Brooklyn Part II
Brooklyn Heights is one of New York City's most historic neighborhoods. In the 1830s, steam ferries made it America's first suburb and in 1965, it became a National Historic Landmark and the City's first Historic District.

What you should know:
The Hop-on-Hop-off bus is a great way to get the lay of the land.
There are walking trails in Prospect, Main Street, Brooklyn Bridge Parks and in Green-wood Cemetery.
Restrooms are available in the parks.
You could spend a couple of hours to a couple of days exploring Brooklyn and all it has to offer.
Major areas are very walkable.
There are many restaurant and entertainment options.
There are on the street and parking lot options; check posted parking regulations signs. Overall, parking can be difficult.
The #s2, 3, 4 and A and C trains go to Brooklyn.
